A story of my mind

I had a dream where the women I’ve loved in the past few years stood together to take a picture. 😍

We were in a backyard, and I know this because we literally walked there. To get there, we walked through a long pathway decorated on both sides by stacked cages of barking dogs. The dogs belonged to the neighbours, I guess.

We were there to check out some unused space. It wasn’t any more a boys’ quarters than it was a flat. It was small, yet it was large. You could go down and you could climb back up. It was empty, abandoned and dirty.

There with us was a builder promising to clean it up — tiles, coverings, polishing. I took a video of everything he said to hold against him, for when he eventually disappointed me.

I don’t remember what the builder looked like, but I remember walking upstairs and seeing the ladies clustered. They were standing in the perfect spot for a picture. So I rushed over to ask them to pose.

The picture was beautiful! They all looked fine as hell and were perfectly interspaced like in a magazine spread. A notification comes in but I dismiss it. More pictures!

When I’m finally satisfied, I walk over to show them. I unlock my phone, open my gallery and that’s when I realize it. The notification from before was a low memory warning. None of the pictures actually saved.

When I woke up, I picked up my phone to check, just in case. It was dead.
