Wings
Two Angels, beautiful Long flowing wings that shone in the sun
She met him, he met her And from first stare they knew When they touched, they knew From the first kiss they knew
And so beautiful it was The both of them glowing Gliding around the heavens So quickly deep in love
And one day they wanted more They wanted to escape the heavens To be together forever But neither could fly that high
So she clipped her wings And gave them to him He would be stronger, faster Fly them both above Nirvana
And fly they did Past the seven heavens they glided He flying so high so fast She in his warm grasp
They were finally free Free of the other angels at last And they savoured it Until they exhausted their love
And the touches became cold Then the kisses went sour And there was nothing to say Except that there was nothing to say
One day he decided no more So he dropped his angel From above the heavens his callous heart Dropped her and never looked down
Past the seventh, sixth then fifth Past the heavens she dropped Past the fourth, third, second then first Down to Earth she dropped
Freefalling past all her glory At the mercy of the deserted angels Because she had loved And given away her wings
